8 pillars of TPM and how are they effective for the organization

TPM stands for total productive management; TPM brings vital focus of the organization to the vital part of the production process. It assigns preventive and routine messages to the organization as its primary motive is to fix the problem beforehand. There are many books on the same; one can buy books online in India.
The concepts are for everyone right from shop floor to the top floor, kaizen for the shopfloor is even available.  These concepts help us better understand few concepts which bring efficiency to the organization, AIAG manuals are also available in the market.
Following are the eight pillars of TPM
  • Autonomous maintenance – operators also monitor the condition of their own equipment, and help us to focus on work.
  • Process and Machine Improvement — Team leaders collect in order from worker and work areas, and then prioritize precautionary safeguarding and advance
  • Preventive Maintenance — Operators and team leaders share precautionary maintenance everyday jobs and timetable.
  • Early Management of New Equipment — Team leaders foresee and map for parts of utensils life sequence and details to mangers based on safeguarding reports.
  • Process Quality Management — collective accountability for process and maintenance encourages superiority in enhancement thoughts from all district of work.
  • Administrative Work — manager prioritize data from the preceding pillars and share result with team finest and job areas.
  • Education and Training — unremitting development contain operator and work area schooling and guidance, which improve confidence, preservation and competence.
  •  Safety and Sustained Success — competence broad safety is prioritized, which positively force continuous victory of the TPM program.
These are the 8 pillars of the total production management, every pillar/ principle stands its own importance, without one pillar also TPM is incomplete. It in all brings efficiency to the production process of the organization and helps in the reducing the cost and bringing efficiency to the organization and avoid any failure as it works on prevention better than cure. TPM is one of the most useful technique that every organization should indulge in and built in their account.
